My guess this was canned because they don't want people wandering through the ground helping themselves to stuff they have put up on their tacky auction site.

No proof, just a hunch.

Johnson

Your right maybe women did vote but if I know women they do not think that way.
To be fair if you give people a vote it is 50/50 I just felt that some people may have turned up just for nostalgias sake and the Girls would have had a great time playing at UP for one last time.
Yes I was a bit of a bastard toward men but I also had a go at the Chairmen too, who Johnson probably proved you right in claiming it is just about money although to be fair to them it was up to the fans regarding how much they wished to part with .

Why do you think it's only men who voted?

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
Over 5000 sad pathetic men voted no.
Human beings are sad fuckers really, it would have been a great memory for those girls to have one last game there, but I blame the Chairmen for putting up a Poll for voting and not standing by its result.
The truth is that many would rather a memory dies with them rather than anyone else, such a mean spirited race, women come to West Ham games and support too, women are our mothers our wives our sisters and our children but we could not give them one final game, oh no because we men must control everything and it would be the final game ever on the hallowed turf oh and anyway women are aliens when it comes to football, shame on the fans for voting no and shame on the club for accepting no even though the vote said yes .

Well Literally It is the final game, I respect the fact that it comes off as slightly Ingenuous and that the Club should be sponsoring the Ladies team without any help from the fans but still the Final game no matter how big any other game is advertised after it, was West Ham v Man Utd on May 10th,
In my mind there might be a few thousand fans who want to see that stadium once more albeit at a Ladies game so what is the harm I mean being fleeced by a top flight football club is hardly new to anyone.

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
It's because they were billing it as THE FINAL GAME and as someone else said, 'bigging it up' as such. That's what has annoyed people.

The fact it's Doris's probably mitigates it to be honest..

You've missed the point.

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
Obviously The last game was V Man Utd regarding West Ham, but why are so many of us getting wound up by a few more games being played, be they Charity or West Ham ladies ?
As far as I am concerned It is not fleecing if people want to fucking go even if its a few thousand , who the hell is anyone to say stop and why should that pitch not be used.
Are some Hammers jealous that a few others will experience the surroundings of a probably three quarter empty Upton Park for a second or two more than they have?.
I seriously find men a fucking embarrassment to be honest voting No, because as far as I am concerned the only people that matter in this case are the Ladies who would/will play in that great ground for a last time and would appreciate the experience.

if they really cared about the ladies team..they would let them play the first game at the OS

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
If the official site and Jack Sullivan's TWITTER is bigging them up as the "FINAL GAME" and encouraging fans to pony up and make donations to West Ham Ladies (something the club could and should be funding themselves) and obviously spend money on frozen hotdogs and left over booze and the club shop then Yes they do count Rylan, if not, then no they don't.

What part of it's the marketing of the game not the game itself are people deliberately missing to take the usual "shit don't stink" sneering stance?

Yep the football for fans day is next week isn't.
Only short games but still 11 a side using the full pitch.

Does that count as more games at the Boleyn?

"I'd imagine the final game will be played by the demolishers".

What if they're not Hammers though? They might do something else on the pitch?

**Shudders, but considers applying for a demolition job at Tottenham**

I'd imagine the final game will be played by the demolishers.

That'll get the OUTRAGE crew something to think about.

I think as much as anything else that people are finally showing their annoyance at the rinsing of the Farewell Boleyn campaign.
How many 'final' games can there be?

gregan 3:19 Wed May 18
Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
It was a nice gesture by the club and Jack Sullivan. The marketing of the "Last game at Upton Park' straight after the Man Utd game is what killed this straight away.

Shame.

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
Squeeky bum time for the NEW last game at Upton Park now this has been pulled.

By the time the bulldozers arrive about 250 games or so would have taken place after West Ham v Man Utd. Shame the ladies game to help raise funds is the only one to get cancelled (by their own fans).

Re: Poll for that final game in June on the official site
This is pretty embarrassing really considering that there appears to be a number of other games played on the pitch since the last game already.
